Collators 1501-2015

List of collators of the Foundation Vicarie Sancti Nicolai (1501-2009) and their backgrounds

The Foundation maintains a list with all of the collators (those who are entitled to appoint students as benificiaries) since the establishment in 1501. A collator keeps his function until his death.

Berndt I van Basten, son of Herman and Lumme Kremer, keurnootin Winterswijk, steward of Bredevoort on behalf of the duke of Gelre, collator of the vicarie Sancti Nicolai from (after 13 April 1503) – †, disc. between 13 March 1545 and 18 Feb. 1546, married to Gertgen N.N, disc. before 18 maart 1573.
  3. Herman II van Basten, son of Berndt van Basten and Gertgen N.N., keurnootin Winterswijk, collator of the vicarie Sancti Nicolai from (between 13 March 1545 and 18 Feb. 1546) – †; disc. before 8 March1604; married to Wendele van Voirst.
  4. Frederik I van Basten, son ofHerman and Wendele van Voirst, collator of the vicarie Sancti Nicolai from (before 8 March 1604) – †, disc. (shortly before 24 June1615); married to Maria Dienberch, dr. van Herman and Anna de Bever.
  5. Herman III van Basten, son of Frederick and Maria Dienberch, collator of the vicarie Sancti Nicolai from (shortly before 24 June 1615) – † (inst. 7 Nov. 1615), alderman of Vreden, disc. after 11 May 1641; married 1st approx. 1604 Wiegmoed Huissinck, dr. of Herman en Johanna Mensinck and wid. of Henrick Dienberch; married 2nd Elsbeen Sweders.

Frederik II van Basten, son of Herman and Wiegmoed Huissinck, citizen of Vreden, collator of the vicarie Sancti Nicolai from 1655 until1678, cedes his rights to the vicarie to his cousin Christoffer Rabelinck 29 April 1658, disc. 1678, [married to Mechteldis Iserloe, dr. of Matthias and Agnes van Woldenberg tot de Manhorst].
